Whenever Congress gets involved with copyright law it seems things just go from bad to worse.

    This is worse.

@zigg the only way through impostor syndrome is to wear it out. Wear it out with trying new things. Wear it out by exploring new things.

Break that little fucker with awesomeness. 😁

If it were a country, MySpace would be the seventh biggest, ahead of Russia and Bangladesh, though not all users are active. It had 153,339,321 users when I started writing this article and 153,523,640 when I had finished. What does this growth bode for the future? For the first time a like-minded media generation will grow up interacting instantaneously: globalisation personified. Maybe we won't need CVs any more as our lives will be there online.

@nolan Because we've learned that fucking with the DOM in real time gets us closer to desktop apps and the only way we've reliably done that is with things like React / Redux (afaict).

@baldur @nolan @wanderview Honestly whenever I see AMP I think "Great, you've prioritized pushing your ads to my browser over making readable content".

It doesn't feel like a solution to the problem of readable content on low-powered / mobile devices; it feels like "we've made print-friendly include animated ads. It's magical, like Harry Potter!".

@musicman Yeah, I'd rather see the effort in one event rather than spread out over multiple events. Dilutes the effort too much.

@musicman You highlighted everything that I've seen. Labels tend to give more of a crap about getting the licensing right than the band, primarily because it's part of their business interests to get it right.

Can't say how many times I've asked a band about their CC license and the answer has been "I dunno; ask the label". One I think still has their album listed as CC-BY even though they're clearly not a CC-BY band and said as much when I asked them about it.

@musicman @thelovebug I'm OK with taking the CCMA dormant until there is a more pressing need for it. Right now we're still in the "what's a CC license and why do I need it" phase.
