    I'd like to kick those in favor of shifting the time twice a year right in the crotch. We can leave our time right where it is.

    My grandson (2, but will be 3 soon) had a meltdown because "it can't be bedtime, it is still daylight". He's not wrong. Just a couple of nights ago, bedtime was after sunset.

    At that time, #LG was staying at the house for the Summer, so I bought my mom the same model that she got. That way, LG could assist her grandmother.

    Neither the nephew formerly known as #lazyNephew nor his younger brother #Papaya were present for that discussion, but they did get tablet computers in the mail that Summer. My recollection is that Papaya was staying with my mom for some sort of youth empowerment training, so I shipped his tablet to the house ... and despite "signature required", the UPS driver left it in the driveway.

    When he returned home, his brother suddenly contacted me to ask whether he was getting one. I had already planned on visiting Jeremiah (employee at the Best Buy store ... I made sure that every sale went through him ... they weren't on commission, but that doesn't mean they don't keep track of how productive an employee is) after work the next day.

    I recently got to talk to my sister's kids #Honshu, #faveNephew, #PizzaMan, and #LG (three brothers and a sister, all in their 20s and 30s) in person. It was interesting that faveNephew and LG brought up the year I'd gotten tons of overtime, so I shipped each one a different model of tablet computer back when most people did not have such devices.

    PizzaMan, being the youngest male, was always the last to get anything. Even his younger sister got things before he did. So I sent his tablet first, a week or more before the next sibling's shipment.

    We took my 5 year old grandson #GS3 to a weather expo at the local mall. He got to meet one of the meteorologists from https://www.ky3.com/weather/ and to talk to an employee of NOAA / NWS, who had a little vortex machine for kids to see and touch. He also got to see another station's "storm tracker" vehicle.

    Kudos to KY3's weatherman, who gave #GS3 and #GS4 his full attention and talked with them like they mattered. I am new in the Springfield area, but it is really cool to see.

    #GS4 is at the doctor's office. They'll probably combine the "sick child" visit with the periodic "well child" visit.

    Also, penguin 🐧 week seems to be going well. #GS4 has started asking for penguin videos. I am tempted to keep it going instead of starting seal week on Sunday.

    He tolerates #GS3's weather and space interests, but they aren't really his thing. We're looking for his own thing to explore with him.

    @clacke I never heard of such a thing until I worked for a government agency that sends people to remote offices for months at a time. And, yes, there is a very high rate of infidelity and lots of sexual harassment claims.

    And lots and lots of required training meant to divert those who might be considering such behaviors.

    Talked to Mark and to S and informed them that I'll be leaving $EMPLOYER shortly. Both were glad for me.

    Mark and his wife have a baby, so he is also looking to escape the travelling life. S has some conflicts at home along with the issues that come with the job, so she's attempting to change both at once.

    I have not yet spoken with K or Kenny or Steve or Carlos or ... . I will probably just send a goodbye e-mail blast to most of my co-workers.
