Illegal mining groups using #Starlink satellite communications.
(Note: I'm not implying, and I don't think CNN is either, that the #SpaceX company has anything to do with the miners. It is more that the miners are using methods that most others have been slower to embrace.)
See the conversation at https://bae.st/objects/b2f916c7-8c8b-4e30-9ac0-011343217203 for a discussion of an apparent ongoing effort to crawl and index the Fediverse, then report illegal or questionable content to #USDOJ / #FBI. (I presume that instances based elsewhere might be reported to that nation's authorities.)
There's also one or more bad actors who show up, post illegal or questionable content, then report the content to hosting companies, domain registrars, et cetera.
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California had some tight restrictions on things like watering your garden ... depending on which community one lives in ... but is relaxing them in view of this year's wet Winter. (The thing is, the "member water agencies" don't have to relax requirements on their customers.)
Still a big thing. Much of !SoCal has had tighter restrictions than the state as a whole, and whenever the state imposes new restrictions, it looks for X percent reduction in water use, and if your area is already doing things that other areas aren't, you're still required to cut use by X percent.
The older boy said he wants a blue shirt. The ypunger boy was very clear: red. To make sure I heard it, he repeated it twice. So I am in Walmart looking for t-shirts in their respective sizes and colors.
That's on top of the bank switch. (Note: I think I figured out part of the bank's issue--they are smaller, so many services are provided through disinterested third party contracted services that have no incentive to meet consumer expectations nor any interest in putting forth any exyra effort.)
Through it all, I have persevered, and my favorite ten year old will soon be enjoying his one-year #Crunch_Labs subscription.
