Successfully reconstructed the PNG by hand-generating a correct CRC and fixing the IHDR fields so that the QR code can be displayed (after OCR'ing the fine print on the invitation, figuring out the rotN-cipher and uudecoding the text). Hopefully I'm cool enough to go to their wedding now that I have decoded the invite.
my fave thing about reactors is, we have this super complex process to refine uranium into the isotopes we want for fission, make a super complex system of control rods and other things to control the reaction, work out how all the byproducts affect the neutrons affecting the self-sustained uranium fission that creates heat... to boil some fucking water like a bigass kettle
Pet peeve: hyphenation of Spanish surnames for the benefit of English speakers and other foreigners.
We have two family names! Father's and mother's, in that order! I will forever fight that hyphen between my surnames just because other cultures don't understand that I want both of my parents in my name.
My next goal is to build, test, release, and deploy every time the developer stops typing for more than 300 milliseconds. I won't even wait for them to save the buffer, I'll just take whatever they have in the buffer and pretend it's been saved and committed and pushed.
Having to manually save files and commit changes is such an unnecessary overhead, which slows down development and progress for no good reason at all.
Okay so, recipe. Cut the napa cabbage lengthwise, coat it in oil and salt and pepper. Grill each piece for 3 minutes on each side. Chop up into little pieces. Make a Cole slaw style sauce (many recipes available online but I like mayo + mustard + apple cider vinegar in equal proportions) and mix it all together. Incredible on its own or as a condiment on sandwiches
My grandparents decided to learn Welsh when they were 65. After two years of lessons in it (and talking Welsh with me at home, I was going to a Welsh school and was already fluent), they were fluent. My grandmother, around the same time, decided to overcome her phobia of water and had me teach her how to swim. She'd swim laps with me in the pool up into her 80s.
You're not too old and it's not too late to try something new.
