I just picked up SO MUCH 50mm webbing!
I did some measuring and calculating and it looks like I'll be able to get away without any backing fabric at all, just a pair of vertical 50mm strap lengths for each half of the bag frame. I'm thinking I'll use hook & loop to secure it under tension but I picked up a pair of side release buckles anyhow to cover all my bases.
And I *think* I have a functional three-buckle quick-release design for securing the frame to the bag... 🤞

My stitch control is obviously terrible, but at least I can lay down a functional box X stitch through two layers of 25mm nylon webbing. I think the thickest layering I'll need in this project is three, which I think this machine can handle. I'm at the top end of its thread tension range.
It would be super useful to have a real thread holder instead of the one I bodged together with a tabletop tripod, a convenient metal tube, and a couple of self adhesive velcro loops.

It was better. Noticeably, easily better.
