@selea Yeah, as far as I can tell... the fediverse is the best alternative that I've got too which is why it sucks that I feel as I do about things. I don't know how to change that. I don't really have anywhere else to go... the fediverse was supposed to be my escape and breath of fresh air from places like twitter even though it is familiar. It's familiar enough to lure me here, and different enough that it keeps me here.

@phildobangnz Eh... all I can say is that on both sides, you probably won't want someone like that to have a relationship with. Because men can also, for example, go for a younger and beautiful woman. Guys do have preferences.
I hope so, I like to think it is related to how open and honest I am. I also like to help where I can which isn't much, alas. Well, I just have an aversion to her after hearing about the shit she did. I'd be reminded of that. I don't mind being told about these things but it does mean I won't think very highly of them.

@wowaname You make a good point. It shouldn't just be about sex, imo. Especially when many relationships end up having a family of their own, or other times they look after other family members that are sick. There is a lot that goes into it. Not to mention how the relationship itself can provide stability and comfort, two very important things to me. In a good relationship, you have someone you can turn to and trust to support you while keeping these things private.

@thatbrickster I'm not sure if progress is being driven in this case.
I was also thinking about that time that instances broke because of something relating to mastodon early on, and other people had to fix that. Gargron didn't see it as his problem. Having someone like this pushing 'progress' is not good. I forget what exactly the problem was now though.
That is the thing with this, I feel like I'm one of the few that this effects like it does. I feel miserable due to this direction taken. It reminds me of how I felt on twitter without realising it. It was a breath of fresh air to be here, but now I feel that slipping. I try to cope, but it doesn't help that for whatever reason it triggers me.

@selea I dunno. It will probably get solved in this case because that is the type of person lain is. But other people had to fix gargrons breaking changes because he didn't want to hear about it or do anything about it. It was our fault, not his, as far as the impression I got was. He's less willing to bend over backwards to ensure compatibility when others make changes.

It's rich hearing someone complain about how pleroma introduced breaking changes when they have mostly bent over backwards to ensure compatibility and mastodon has introduced quite a few breaking changes to the fediverse prior to this. I don't see some of the features over here on GS/qvitter. We don't get those. Mastodon broke things and made changes we couldn't follow this side. But I'm glad we can't follow some of those changes because I don't like them. They create a closed off non-social network. Or might as well have.
