It's bad enough that I tend to refrain from mentioning this in person and through polite society... I don't need that online either. That's not being welcoming for me to talk about my interests or concerns.

    @webmind @moonman @karen @trev What you were saying would apply to me. I'm all for individuals being able to filter their own timelines and there are word filters on pleroma already I think? Not sure about mastodon/GS. I'm not in favour of CWs. I'd consider it indecent to expect others to CW their own posts on their own timelines... that is what I'd call anxiety-provoking because you just don't know what other people will take offence to or which topics to hide. It's not a welcoming feature to hide things, IMO.

    @webmind @moonman @karen @trev So you'd rather hide topics from view even though they are topics we should be able to talk about without hiding it behind a wall? Topics that need exposure. What sort of message does this send to people? This is a feature I do not gladly see. Especially when people tell me that I should be hiding my personal experience behind a cw with no regard for how I feel about this. I don't even like seeing how mastodon implements it.

    @webmind @moonman @karen @wowaname @trev I wonder if you realise that telling me to use CW's on here causes me to feel emotionally triggered? I do not appreciate it. It adds to my stress and anxiety, and I've even had a few people jump on me to use them. I do not think they are appropriate.

    @webmind @moonman @karen @trev It read to me as shitposting but that may be because I know trev a bit better. I don't think he was serious. Still, I don't think that people should have to CW it even though it is about religion and there has been abuse related to that topic in the past. It shouldn't have to be hidden by a collapsed wall. I'd say the same for any topic about religion or lack thereof.
