Another problem for a lot of people today? Single parenthood and divorce rates. This is another issue that I mentioned of the temporary nature of the world we reside in... and how unstable it is.
-
Great tragedy breeds change in its wake.
-
It's also interesting to note that during the world wars, huge numbers of workers were drafted and died. This allowed for the changes that would take place afterwards. Women were needed to work to replace the loss in numbers, and then could push for better conditions... even when the men came back from the wars.
-
@hfaust That is good. I bulked at some of the permissions some were asking for that I don't think follow this. :')

When it comes to work, I think that overpopulation is a problem which immigration adds to... I'm amazed to hear what changes were made for workers in the past when the plague killed huge numbers of people. They had quite the chance to get better conditions for themselves. If you can easily be replaced then you become less valuable and feel it. Everything is temporary and unstable now... this is the reality we live now. From temporary jobs we yo-yo between rather than upwards in mobility, renting and moving a lot, being long distance from family, etc.

@rice I have at least two prominent personalities like you do. The first one is that I've admired the ideal of being a gentleman, and acting on that. The second one is motherhood and homemaking which has been a more recent one that I've been exploring within myself. I've always been a bit of a 'tomboy' and I don't see that part of me going away anytime soon... especially because I prefer being as natural as I can. I have wondered how I can integrate and accept these aspects of myself. Both the feminine and masculine. I'm not your typical person and given my experiences, I think I'm too far gone for that. Always been a bit different...

@hfaust Cheers! I knew I was onto a winner when the app said it didn't require any permissions too. Really don't want a complicated note taker.
-
@roko @delores Well... as someone that spends a lot of time in doors, I can say that I get enjoyment out of stories and video games are another form of that. I also enjoy going out in the world to see beautiful things that stimulate my brain... but those things are becoming fewer and far between with human activity. We don't build for beauty and it's depressing to view. Video games, on the other hand, do have places of beauty in them to explore.
I also get very drained easily just going out and need a lot of downtime. When I do go out socialising, I am sometimes reminded why I remove myself from that. I don't have the same excitement as you do, I think?

I wonder how good Apache License 2.0 is... it looks good at a glance...
-
Those permissions for Omni Notes tho... pheeew...
-
Now to figure out which notes app in the F-Droid store is the best for free software...
-
@ajr Yelp... that might help! I think I'll turn my screen back down too. I prefer it darker.
-
@ajr Feels like that has been me this week. Sigh..
-
@moonman Cheers. I did wonder why I couldn't get in!
-
I wouldn't be so bothered if they weren't getting taxpayer funded money... we have a shit ton of debt as a country as it is, and it doesn't look like that debt will ever go down. Then we have to pay for things like this...
-
It's kinda stupid that royalty gets treated as VIP wherever they go, and for marriages. If they are doing a public service, okay... but in their off time it would be nice for them to get the same treatment the rest of us have. Also when it comes to their marriage. I'm sure they can save up to afford it all...just like we have to.
-
@ayy Are you kidding me? I could buy a house with that much, maybe two or three for family! It would provide for the furniture needed, and maybe savings for child education. I can only wish I had that sort of money! But if it really isn't that much, then royalty can pay for it for themselves rather than expecting the taxpayer to pay for their royal wedding and parades. Maybe they can hire private guards so the police aren't spread too thin!
-
@hakui *Hugs back* Thanks! Hope you sleep well. I could do with more sleep... so exhausted from this week alone!
-
@wowaname It was the only one my tired brain could remember at the time. ;; But good, it's awful...
-
I think I'll just head to bed and put all this behind me. Goodnight fedi. Rest well and sweet dreams tonight!
