My friend and I are officially contracted for a book from the West Virginia University Press's series Salvaging the Anthropocene. Our book, Almanac for the Anthropocene: A Compendium of Solarpunk Futures, will focus primarily on collecting practical, substantive applications of #solarpunk thought. The lack of revolutionary potential in most existing co-ops is one of the many reasons why cooperative/collective economic projects should already incorporate an inherently anarchist approach at the founding level, and options for long-term horizontal scalability via federation with politically & structurally compatible projects shouldn't be an afterthought.
Worker co-ops shouldn't be isolated. Instead, they should have the clear potential to be integral parts of a bottom-up needs-based economy.

@amsomniac @bob most left concepts of luxury and automation are not fit for a future because they were mostly developed before an awareness for the environment. I am an admirer of LTM, but that questions both: luxury and automation in it's common understanding

@bob I see the environmental nightmare from a different angle: FALC does not question the state of material access and how it is distributed. It does less call for redistribution of material goods and more in general for producing more. And this "more" has its consequences, dark grim consequences.

OK, this is a "boosts needed" post, please boost this if you see it. At least one organisation I'm involved in has a major problem in that it runs online and needs to be able to ballot members, and just about all the easy services for doing so aren't GDPR compliant.
Would anyone be interested in clubbing together to try and run a Euro-side, compliant server of CIVS or a similar e-voting system that could be used by community groups, activist orgs, and so on?

@distel i still believe it is due to my former eastern germany upbringing. Noone in my family really cared about mothers day or fathers day until reunification, but international womens day was kind of important. after reunification i remember several men celebrating these drunk-mens-day (mostly because of landside living and peer pressure), but not mothers day. hm.
