@sybren Very cool image. Looks like from a more dramatic and grounded movie. Some hair particle issue with her eyebrows. Vertex weight slightly above zero?
Generously managed by @sybren and @LPS Just making sure. Otherwise the one on Vimeo has a noticeably better video quality which plays much nicer with the smoke effects, so I would rather share this one than the YT one: https://vimeo.com/325910798
There is so much visual detail. This sound and pictures belong in a theater.
@sybren Proog in Eevee. That's the beauty of the open movies. If Pixar used Blender from the beginning, we could re-render Toy story. Maybe even improve the rigs. Remasters of movies in general would require much less work hours and be much cleaner.

Watched Andrew Price's 2.80 announcement/top6 video. It hurt. He's an 8 year long Blender tutor who was my entry door to Blender as he was for a great part of the community and somehow, more than ever, he sounds like a long time commercial software user who's just starting to realize "free" doesn"t mean worse. Maybe I'm overreacting but some things he said truly sounded wrong. #blenderguru#b3d#b280#blender28
@KnowPresent@Gargron in every instance I'm in, I have a column showing a feed of multiple hashtags at once (different for each instance). I find it very useful.
@LPS just notifying you that your hashtag is broken. You can't have a dot in it. Anywho, Blender coupled with Animation Nodes is far superior to After Effects for motion graphics but for video effects (speed control, keying and other video processing), I still haven't found algorithms as powerful as those AE offers in the open source world.
GWWWWD I LOVE 2.8 SO MUCH I GET ALL TENSED EVERY TIME ITS POWER ALLOWS ME TO DO SOMETHING AWESOME I COULDN'T DO BEFORE (about every 10 minutes). I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE I HAVE TO GET MY EXCITEMENT OUT SOMEHOW !
@sybren that said, I hope we won't see the media count how many more will. Presenting global temperature evolution in terms of how many - arbitrary - geographical areas of completely different sizes have beaten their record is about as misleading as it is clickbait.
@monsterjavaguns another thing: the icons of the properties tabs (e.g. constraints, modifiers) become hard to read when selected. I personally changed the highlight color to C6ECFF. This color is under User Interface>Tab>Inner Selected
However, this also affects the workspace tabs so I made the "Text Selected" black so it stays readable.
The best would be to keep a dark highlight and make the icon white when the tab is selected (just like the text) but I don't think that's possible.
