is there a simple way to mount a WebDAV host to a folder in Linux, without needing to mess around wtih fstab etc? Like sshfs, where you just run sshfs <host> <mountpoint>.

This is creating and editing a document in my hubzilla cloud using only libreoffice. No browser or other software involved no  local copy. With permissions granted, it can be collaborative.

I thought Charles was talking about editing Libre Office documents inline. But this is of course also a nice feature, although you can of course edit every file in your Hubzilla cloud using Webdav.

The take home message besides Hubzilla awesomeness for members is WAKE UP to WebDAV possibilities. The WebDAV protocol started in 1996 and has been stable since 2007. WebDAV support was added to Microsoft Office 2000 in 1999 and LibreOffice precursors OpenOffice 2.4 and StarOffice 7 in 2003.

I can't imagine how people missed this cool feature since it's so obviously advertised on our project webpage and in the Help pages.

    From 5 months ago:

You can write and edit documents with LibreOffice on your Hubzilla cloud.
    File
    Open Remote File

    Add service
Host: Only your domain name, no https://
    Secure Connection: checked
    Label: a nickname
    Root: /dav/

Then I had to close out of LibreOffice. When I reopened and selected Remote File I was asked for my user and pass for the cloud, and to choose a master password for storing the cloud passwords in LibreOffice.

I believe the capabilities described have been present for several years and do not depend on any recent changes.
