I hope this will settle our users minds at ease. I for one cannot think of a better person to follow in Hope's (speaking ideologically of in respect to these sites) to here. Unless otherwise directed I will continue to follow the path Hope blazed. If necessary I will follow Moon & Co's path but you can expect due warning beforehand. All things considered these past few months if not more I'm pretty sure I am the only one who was pushing boundaries and I was pushing them for the sake of exploration. TL;DR you've been left in good hands so there should be no more need for concern. Hope has requested that (insert gender)'s sites be removed from the server as soon as an opportunity to migrate has been fulfilled. After that, this drama should be nothing more than a hindsight for the casual user.
As someone who has been here soon after the start I would be remiss in moving on without thanking Hope, regardless of gender, for the opportunity to work with such a vibrant community and I can only wish he/ she/ it/they them/ bob my uncle/ etc for the opportunity to take part in such a grand adventure. Consider, when all is said and done, it is not the person but the idea that brought us together that truly counts. With that said, I can only wish 'Hope' the best going forward hoping our paths cross again someday.
So, the monero miner wasn't running without informed consent. I've removed the site notice. I'm going to leave the registrations locked for now until the witchhunt has some time to die down.
so now that I got my only ;) MTD sock banned I'm free to get back to crawling down !amateur radio rabbit holes, I think my next one will be QRP + homebrewing (this might take a while)
@cyberpotato I'm using so many layers of protection I make the seven proxiseas look like yourmom.jpg.exe and I still have to shower when I log off. Also, I want whatever drugs the people who consider Mastodon an example of good UX are taking
SKYWARN Recognition Day was developed in 1999 by the National Weather Service and the American Radio Relay League.
It celebrates the contributions that SKYWARN volunteers make to the NWS mission, the protection of life and property. Amateur radio operators comprise a large percentage of the SKYWARN volunteers across the country.
The Amateur radio operators also provide vital communication between the NWS and emergency management if normal communications become inoperative.
During the SKYWARN Special Event operators will visit NWS offices and contact other radio operators across the world.
@zlg it's a REALLY long story. The TL;DR is that the lead dev went out of his way to bring the Twitter/ Tumblr drama crowd to this network. Also, apparently we're Nazis *shrugs*
