I'm thinking I want to learn how to play the #piano. Never too late, right?
This looks like a good way to start:

@bgcarlisle Congrats on completing another revolution!
@Jo I've seen some oldies go higher than that:
I guess if they think someone will buy it at that price, that's the price they'll go with.
Awesome! It's lunchtime, dudes.
#NESdev progress report:
Yay, I can quickly switch palettes now in #tilerswift.
I had to rethink my approach and create a single widget instead of one widget per tile, but it wasn't so bad in the end.

Next up is going to be the tile selector, so I can build complete sprites out of tiles.
@skalyan Ooh, good going! Maybe we should get a Mathstodon leaderboard going.
@aidalgol I have that problem too. If something is random, it needs to have a distribution function!
@codingquark You can hook up random-generating devices to your computer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_random_number_generator
I know this makes me sound like a cranky jerk, but I really don't like when people describe as "random" everything about computers that they don't understand.
Just because the explanation is difficult doesn't mean that there is no determinacy! Most things computers do are in fact predictable and understandable; true randomness is very rare.
In particular, (I've ranted about this before), #FloatingPoint error is not random.
OH: "I'm surprised more dads aren't upset about climate change, since I've seen how angry they get when anyone changes the thermostat."
@holger There isn't anything but Github if you want Github. Bitbucket isn't like Github and neither is Gitlab.
How much Github are you willing to give up? Depending on the degree of non-githubness you're willing to tolerate, there's sr.ht, Heptapod, Kallithea, or built-in hgweb.
Huh #PyQt is using #Mercurial:

It's so nice to find hg usage in the wild. Just for this, I feel like I made the right choice by using this library.
@gnomon Where'd you find this? I wanna tell others about it.
@JordiGH I suspect these announcements may be pertinent to your interests..?

@gnomon OMG YES THANKS
@wobin @Juju Totoro is probably the best introduction to Ghibli. It's their mascot for a reason.
@wobin @Juju HOWEVER, beware of Grave of the Fireflies, unless you're ready to feel very sad about real-world events.
@faoluin Such is life in code.
@matt I got that from watching Yahtzee's review. How did you come to this conclusion?
@bmreiniger Booooo, cheating!
They should increase the score for the difficult ones.
