@ajroach42 Oh also "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" came out 3 months before American Idiot and it was such a spectacularly better pop punk album it's insane to me that anyone gave a shit about Green Day. Next to MCR American Idiot sounds like the blandest, safest, lowest-energy dad punk imaginable

I don't know what I mean by "good". Illuminating, touching, cathartic, devastating, relatable, goddamn we need to start talking about this shit

Don't worry about why, just do it. It'll be cool. We're the vanguard of technology or something
People: ok
People: hey why does this calendar i downloaded have ads in it
Google: Haha cool

Anyone can pay for one paper and take all of them, and that clearly doesn't happen or else they'd have stopped doing it or changed the design. So why have a coin-activated lock at all? Why can't I put a dollar in a slot and get a paper? Surely the extra 25% from people willing to pay it (because who has exactly three quarters on them ever) will offset the occasional person who will take one without paying?

I think it's one of those rare games that gave me a small but permanent critical thinking bonus

One down-on-his luck ex-geologist thinks he knows the formula, but it's going to take a pretty strong reagent. Will you let him warm you up with his exothermic charms? This summer, alchemy meets geochemistry in a steamy date-em-up you won't soon forget

daredo GmbH, Audiam and ONErpm just decided that they own all that music now, complete with fake band and album names, and the assurance that these are the "original mixes"
Fucking thugs

You put in your hourly wage, and at random intervals throughout your shift, it pops up a little notification that you just made X amount of money in Y length of time, with a nice coin-jingling sound effect. You click a button to collect your loot, and it adds to the running total for what you've made that day and overall.

It's as useless and arbitrary as any other list because it's impossible to play everything that comes out in a year, but here are 10 games I like, and you may like too, if you like the same kinds of games I do
1. Dragon Quest XI
2. Nairi: Tower of Shirin
3. Jazztronauts
4. Warioware Gold
5. Paratopic
6. Deltarune
7. Fortune 499
8. Battle of Polytopia
9. Dead Cells
10. Subnautica -

I just saw a post boosted from October that I can tell from the replies is part of a series, but since it's not threaded there's no way to see the rest of it. I'd have to go to their profile and just click "show more" until I get through the thousands of posts they've made in the last 3 months.

matt 🏴 (matt@cybre.space)'s status on Sunday, 04-Nov-2018 05:26:13 EST matt 🏴 To me, the thing that exemplifies "work smarter, not harder" is the Fallout 3 train hat - instead of creating an entirely new system for a train, they just have an NPC wearing a hat which is an entire train, hidden under the floor and running very quickly.
It's absurd, and someone could have spent a lot of time and effort on a new system to get the the same result in a less absurd way. But this works, so why not?
So my new motto is, "don't be afraid to wear a train as a hat."

For fuck's sake can we stop pretending to be helpful and actually talk about what's causing our problems? How do people not realize that focusing on this circus sideshow bullshit is exactly what the klepto class wants?
