Returning from OggCamp in Oxford several years ago the entire west coast line was effectively closed down due to a signalling failure, and all the passengers shifted to the east coast line. Result: trains bursting at the seams with passengers, though the reservations on the train I was on were honoured and the rest just had to stand.

@beni Yes indeed, it'd be nice to meet up at OggCamp another year. Maybe next time we'll have an HPR table; not sure about this year.

@beni OK, I see. I guess it's a case of booking well ahead then. I booked by tickets to Sheffield for the August OggCamp in May to get the £80 price rather than the £250 price they can charge at other times.

@beni Yes, distinctly chilly. I turned the car heater on for the trip to the gym this morning - the passengers were cold.
Sorry the Inverness/Edinburgh journey was more difficult than expected. I imagine the smaller trains can't cater for bikes, but would expect larger trains to have a storage location.

Went looking to see if the lunar eclipse and "Blood Moon" could be seen here in Edinburgh but was beaten by clouds. Nice evening to be up in the Pentland Hills though.
