@Gargron Happy Birthday to you. I love #Mastodon and thank you for leading and sustaining the development effort. A few people have joined Mastodon at my request. I bet if you reminded users to #hashtag interests in their #introductions and to use hashtagged keywords so their toots would be seen more widely, there'd be more connections, and more users, and in turn Mastodon would be more successful.

Almost forgot: bought a new set of fleece pyjamas at Uniqlo, said "sugoi" when the online discount price rang up and the cashier's face changed suddenly, then flashed to a smile. Always love dropping Nihongo words and phrases: the North Americans never expect them from white folk, so their reactions are gold.

fantastic time shopping: the perfect parking spots opened. No horrendous lines, no mania or panic, everyone pleasant and accommodating, everything we needed available.

Now having moon cookies and wassail to end my Solstice observation, which included burning my lessons for the year, crap I won't miss, and blessings to appreciate and manifest in 2019.

I didn't prepare well other than grabbing the most accessible online article, but I observed my first pagan Solstice. I didn't join Wiccans or pagans outdoors, I just lit candles, two carved with intentions, burned dragon's blood and myrrh, and a stick of frankincense. I was raised Catholic, but this year I recognize I must reclaim my empowerment and place in the world, yet protect myself from others who'd do harm. I slept very well.

A delightful day shopping. Although the food places were busy, everyone was patient and cheerful.

Accomplished:
- food until Boxing Day
- stocking stuffers
- Yule candles for lighting, #candles for #manifesting and #novenas
- bookstore browsing (my favourite!)
- Asian mart for specialty beverages (Ramune, Mango-Orange nectar)

I finished the current Harper's Magazine cryptic crossword contest puzzle. I've submitted 16 times over the last 18 months. I have not won. Steve Wozniak of Encinitas (yes, THAT Steve Wozniak) won, but I haven't yet.
