@gemlog Thought of a great addition to the Canadian QI team: Tommy Chong. He led his team to victory in a televised Canada quiz team.

It was fun to learn more about Canada with QI -- I didn't know about the longrunning territory dispute with Denmark, the politest war currently being fought.

@gemlog I feel Dan could have done more. Tom Hanks proved looks aren't everything. Maybe Dan's more of a team or ensemble actor. I still can't get over how bloated he looked in 'Chaplin' as Mack Sennett: there was nothing bloated about Mack. Was the production that hard up to find a male actor with a natural Canadian accent?

@gemlog I love Rick Moranis. He's a sharp, funny, private man who cared for his family. And he can sing! His SCTV characterizations were gutbusting and eerily accurate at times, like Dick Cavett.

@gemlog He's heavily (pardon the intended pun, or don't) into UFOs. I get that UFOs exist, they're unidentified flying objects, doesn't mean they're aliens or super-sekkrit US gummint experiments, but to spend decades on study, to go beyond strong interest into obsession, is weird.

@gemlog Dave Thomas isn't doing anything, and he's insightful with palatable political sympathies. Dan Aykroyd's morphed into a bloated screwball, and not in a jolly John Candy way either. So jarring when one remembers him from the mid-late 1970s.

@gemlog It's okay to not like Atwood's writings. As a Canadian woman, I felt that I had to make a good effort. I read _Surfacing_, _Cat's Eye_, _After the Flood_, _The Handmaid's Tale_ and _The Blind Assassin_. I liked TBA the best but maybe more honestly I disliked it the least. Atwood is just painful to me. She's not bad, she's just not my type.
