Makes sense that everyone doesn't need their own AR-15, they should be able to just use one for the time they need it. — http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44115267

@aparrish I feel like that paragraph needs to talk to its doctor about that growth.

When I talk to many Republicans they talk about how they're not happy with Trumpism taking over their party. I think a middle right conservative party would gain traction more places than just California. — https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/12/opinion/california-third-party-republicans.html?partner=rss&emc=rss

@tinker my goal is to never be the target of a Nation State. Or even a failed State. Or State-like entity. Or highly organized group of chipmunks.

@tek when I was in Phoenix there were restrictions in building new houses with fireplaces. So people would buy older houses and "renovate" everything except the fireplace so they could have a fireplace in their new house.

@hergertme @cassidyjames @danrabbit I think it was actually before then, but it wasn't a reasonable thing to have in corporate bylaws anyway. Now it is just good for a snide remark or two.

@cassidyjames @danrabbit you can just give an impressive AI demo. You also can give a demo, discuss the social impacts, and talk about how you're working to mitigate those.
Or, you can give a demo and ignore them. You can get excited about the technology and ignore them. Which basically is how tech in the valley has run for the last thirty years.

@cassidyjames @danrabbit really feel like we're missing that "don't be evil" statement in the corporate bylaws right now.

@alienghic they have a point, but that's not a reason to throw junk at it.

"So... we've noticed your restaurant doesn't use Google Bookings... and your Google Ads budget is down... how many robocalls per minute would change your mind? I'm not threatening, just asking."

I hate robocalls. You hate robocalls. We all hate robocalls.
The new Google Assistant call out feature is basically the ability to do a DDoS attack with robocalls.
I'm sure the Internet will use this wisely.

@garrett so it seems like the whole "Atomic" name is dead at least. (probably will live on in packages, etc.)
The base of CoreOS and Atomic Host are pretty different, so I imagine that the folks working on it are being moved to work on CoreOS projects more than them being merged.

Didn't expect Red Hat to shutter Atomic Host for CoreOS, thought it'd go the other way around.
Wondering how that effects OSTree as it seemed like it was becoming a core RH technology. On the way out?

@patdavid perhaps there will become nuance and style by the choice of which table flip you use.
"Oh, my! They used a particularly angry table flip in that Toot!"

These will probably end up misused to just make things like table flips. But it's still pretty cool.

Love having the VIM Syntastic style warning set to '💩'. It feels so good to clean the '💩' off your code.
