    @mhall119 it probably is, but I think it could be a point where the federation could get really interesting.

    Would be a way to say "Who is a good boy?" has been presented at these conferences, and basically having it be on those conferences' GetTogether instance shows that it really was.

    It effectively becomes my "speaking resume" that can be verified by other parties.

    @mhall119 would be cool if on the other side of things you could use it to publish a conference schedule.

    It seems like that's where you're going. At some level a conference is just a series of events. The schedule though multiplexes rooms and times in a different way.

    @danrabbit I've been doing some genealogical research into my family and been surprised how the maternal side of the family tree gets hidden by that naming convention.

    A problem that you may find interesting is how to express a large family tree which includes maternal families. It gets out of control wicked fast. Haven't found a good way to express it in a meaningful way.

    @n8 you could just link your entire .local and .config directories into Nextcloud and live on the edge!

    $ ln -s Nextcloud/local .local

    Later this week I'll be participating in the #2018 #Libre #Graphics #Meeting. I'll be presenting some recent experiences teaching #floss in #graphic #design education: https://libregraphicsmeeting.org/2018/program/

    Anyone else in the #fediverse going there? Should we do a #mastodon #meetup in the margins of the conference?

    @n8 the hard part there isn't mapping file locations, it is supporting conflict resolution.

    Even something like Nextcloud it puts a specially named file in the directory to show there was a conflict and an application would have to detect that. Then perhaps solve it or present the issue to the user.

    This is all hard to do generically without app support because you really need to have knowledge of the file format.

    @n8 a bit of a hack, but you can adjust the XDG locations with environment variables if you really want to move things around.
