Why don't tech bros or other "visionaries" ever unveil the bus of the future in big events?

The bus requires virtually no additional infrastructure, can have its routes organically changed and is relatively affordable.

I am all for transportation infrastructure investment in the US in trains and light rail but the bus is a solution that can be implemented better right now.

I want to see what a future bus looks like, not what some insecure man's need to take up space and waste gas looks like.

It would be awesome if there was a computer museum where each floor was up a level on the stack (is that the right term?) where the bottom was exhibits and explanations of circuits and it went from there all the way up to apps and software at the top and at the very top was a cafe/library with public computers.

It would probably have to be a bajillion floors but I read awhile a book awhile ago that went from analog circuits up to a very simple chip able to execute basic programs and it was wild

Just checked with SF Rapid Response (who will check on the Mission station). Highly recommend calling them 415-200-1548 to report / verify. FWIW, offices for ICE / DHS are near the Embarcadero station.

A lot of my followers are cis and into software privacy/FOSS so I just want to make it crystal clear that a software dev placing limitations on its use for fascist behaviour is good and not in any way against free software, because a fundamental responsibility of the free-as-in-libre ethos is to *protect & help the oppressed*, and that is itself *in direct opposition to fascism*.

Openstreetmap is reaching the point that it is just more information rich and beautiful than google maps and that is awesome

Alright, I'm not sure how much of this has seeped over here comprehensively, but for those who don't use Twitter: turns out Chucklefish is bad, and so is Tiyuri.

Turns out they were using large amounts of unpaid labor (all the concept art, wallpapers, and monster parts for procgen being totally unpaid, done mostly by kids under the age of 18 who were uncredited besides a "contributor" note)

And no, that is not fascist. That is what any decent human being would do. Opposing hatred is not itself hatred, and suggesting it is is simply absurd.

I have created a number of free software applications in the past, including one that was an FSF high priority project.

But I made the decision to not make Toot! “free software” for various reasons. And if you now want to claim that bring free software means you MUST provide services to the far right, then I feel more than ever before that I made the right decision.
