@louwestin@astheroth@fdroidorg If being free software means I can not oppose fascism, then honestly, I have no interest in free software. Some things are far more important than software freedom, and this in one,
"Whatever happens with the current fires in the Amazon, it is clear that the deeper emergency is deforestation and theft of indigenous land... The National Articulation of the Indigenous Peoples of Brazil has called for supporters of the Amazon to organize a global day of action. Wherever you are, join the day of action for the Amazon on September 5, and the global climate strike on September 20th."
"In The Internet As Television, I lamented the drift of the modern web towards favoring passive consumption of 'content' over all else. But we should also bemoan the gradual sacrifice of user privacy and security as well. Despite highly visible examples of how easily personal data is tracked, recorded and weaponized by the advertising-ravenous web, the harms are hard to understand and extremely opaque to most people."
if you're a member of the 4th estate or know any mucky mucks at twitter ---- I'd real appreciate you using your powers to ask questions about this, because I have no idea why this happened:
It is kind of funny how the mobile app monetization model has gotten so broken and sketchy (esp on android) that I actually am more likely to pass over a free app with ads to buy a 5 dollar app that looks good just because I dont want to spend the time identifying if I can tolerate how twisted the free app's funding model is.
my last year of twitter felt like talking into a void. It was depressing and isolating, and it was wonderful to come here and get a bunch of random people saying hi, and welcome, on my very first post. I appreciate the people I've met here and the conversations I've had more than words can say. 💜
