There's only one thing I want to see in the Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

Seems to be another influx of new people! If you have just signed up to mastodon in the last Day or two, was there a particular reason? did something happen?

@codeHaiku I've found mastodon.technology and bsd.network to be good tech instances run by decent human beings.

@Nikolai_Kingsley @matt if you want an alcoholic version (and I often do) Lick Pier comes in cans as well as bottles and is very good.
I have a house cocktail called Far Side of Crazy that involves it. It's almost the weather for it too.

@tcql getting into tight margins is what KY is for, right?
It's ok, I'll see myself out.

@matt @Funkpirata I'm sure it's possible to do it via an app, that was the main sticking point with Apple, as I recall. They wouldn't let anyone access the hardware directly.
I would bet that yeah, Google was the fast and cheap option because all the infrastructure to do it existed already. Very little development on PTV's side and all stuff that had been done and well documented by others.

@Funkpirata @matt I'd argue that there aren't really "plenty" of people without Google services on their Android phone, honestly.
I get the point though. I don't know enough about NFC to comment on why it's the way it is though. As far as I can tell, there's a tiny wizard in charge of casting spells to tell if I just touched my phone on a Myki reader or an EFTPOS terminal at the shops.
Side note through, they should absolutely support touching on with a credit card etc.

@matt @Funkpirata what are the alternative options? I really don't keep up with this kind of stuff at anything more than a surface level. I'd certainly prefer Google Pay over something PTV rolled themselves or accepted the cheapest tender for.

@Funkpirata this is all about Mobile Myki, so happy as a frequent PT user to get some input in there.

@elomatreb I think we just effectively wrote a Black Mirror episode.

@elomatreb great solution! I imagine all they'd require is permission to use your dreams as the basis of a new original series.

Whee, scored a market research gig tomorrow for $80 in cold, hard cash. Gonna go down the club after and make it rain!
'The club' is what I call the bank, and 'make it rain' is how I refer to paying off my credit card.

@uxintro I think with a camera and heart rate monitoring it would only become more accurate. Let Netflix watch you sleep.
