Look, yeah, I do acknowledge that #privacy is important but I probably would give Netflix access to a camera and even the heart monitor on my watch if it meant they could just answer "Are you still there?" for themselves and stop interrupting me.

@futzle it's excellent quality, but I can't figure out how to change the screensaver from some fish thing.

@dadegroot @bcshort I'm at about 2.5 years right now, and I'm doing the entire room, not just the desk.

If I keep getting distracted, I may just end up moving the lounge room furniture into the office after everything migrates into here.

@dadegroot I find that to be a very comforting and relatable setup.

@dadegroot that's because it's not my actual desk. I've temporarily moved my computer into the lounge while I pull everything out of my office and rearrange it.

I personally kind of assume everyone's seen The Blues Brothers but that's mainly because that's how I met a vast amount of people in my life.

@futzle Taco Bill should get the public on-side by announcing they're putting the three seashells in all their bathrooms.

@futzle I'm honestly not surprised, but I can't imagine it'll end well for them. I doubt Taco Bill can out-spend the Bell.

@ozjimbob @PaulfromOz @koosli there's also been a distinct shift from the assumption that everyone would be able to own a house one day, to a system where the deck is stacked against that.

In the former, where renting is probably seen as a temporary situation for most people, some of the restrictions make sense. If we're locking people into a lifetime of renting though, the rights balance really needs to shift.

I'd rather see ownership more accessible though.

@koosli @ozjimbob I kinda enjoy physical property maintenance, fixing stuff, painting, gardening, setting stuff up, etc but the idea of doing anything else fills me with dread.

@ozjimbob @koosli I once filled out a very complicated rental application due to me moving in with a friend where the I was the landlord at his previous address and therefore a reference for him as a tenant.

Things that make me panic in the morning, number 21,297 - hearing the rubbish collection truck outside and being unable to remember if I put the bins out.
