@datatitian this is really just selling me on it
@evilscientistca HURRYYYYYYYY HAAAARRRDDDDDD
@tech_prole that's doable
So, given that any US president 1) is gonna be involved in extremely non-radical shit, and 2) can only shift things so much...
...I think it's okay, even desirable, for the radicals and revolutionaries to remain on the fringes and push things that way.
But I'm just a filthy social democrat and there's no reason to take me seriously :P /end
The establishment has its own inertia and, realistically, can only be shifted so far without breaking. To implement dramatic change you need a certain critical mass of supporters who are 100% behind whatever your agenda is and willing to break laws, precedent, ethical rules, etc., to do it. This is what we see in the Republicans, but I don't think the Dems have that. Rather, they are top-heavy with pro-establishment leaders.
I just wanna make sure y'all are aware that to be the President of the United States is, in practice, to be a war criminal, right? No matter how radical and anti-establishment a politician is, to govern the US as it is now means actively perpetuating/being complicit in any number of international crimes against humanity. They're gonna get their hands dirty. They will be irrevocably (ideologically, morally) compromised. 🐘
@nightpool @somarasu this was why the late great Carrie Fisher said she stopped doing "script doctor" work - people using spec work as a way to get people's ideas for free
regardless of what the truth is, this still stands some days
I believe I have successfully updated Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs for the Mastodon crowd. I am submitting this paper to Psychological Bulletin
United we roll organized a counter-protest to Greta’s Edmonton appearance!
#psa You should probably stop using Startpage.com as a search engine.
#Startpage appears to have sold out to a company called "System1" who are a "pay-per-click behavioral ad company"

#Arachtober day 18: "Okay little buddy, you killed it, it's dead." Luring out a fierce little hacklemesh weaver with a feather taped to a sonic toothbrush. Try it at home! (Linking bc it's a video.) https://twitter.com/neville_park/status/1185211176017448961
normally I find eyeless cave creatures creepy and disturbing, but I don't know where pseudoscorpion eyes are anyway so these new species are just mildly weird looking https://sci-hub.se/10.11646/zootaxa.4661.1.7 🐘
@jakobpunkt @gnomon the kind of beer is beer. It's beer beer. Obviously
@ND3JR whenever she gets the opportunity
#Arachtober day 17: "What's this?" A Larinioides orbweaver examines my finger. When bored I will poke at them or put my finger in their way, and in all my years of doing this, not a single one has bitten me. They either run away, or quickly figure out the finger is not food and lose interest. #DailySpiderPic
Good find -- absolutely a Gab server, and is managed by the "Fourth Estate Public Benefit Corporation." They also fund a Mastodon server. And they have a "no harassment" moderation policy...
So @FourthEstate can you let us know more about Civiq? What is your position on Federtating #Gab content which clearly does include harassing speech?
@gdkar can I steal this for Twitter
@plsburydoughboy I feel very sad
