@mray @jeffcliff Taler isn't designed to be anonymous for receivers, it's intended for entities who voluntarily conform to tax laws etc

@jeffcliff @mray I never claimed Taler was anonymous, but it's more anonymous for the payer than most current payment systems for #BitCoin

      Electronic and Online Voting
      from Loomio
The online voting issue is becoming a major public debate, due to the experiments with it in next year’s local body elections, and the commentary I’ve seen is mostly anti TDB (http://thedailyblog.co.nz/2015/09/17/why-i-would-boycott-voting-in-nz-elections/), even from the technically literate (http://www.publicgood.org.nz/2015/09/16/online-voting-the-risks-to-democracy-are-too-great/). The Pirates have a horse in this race, and we need to agree on some common points, and get them onto the racetrack, for example: * any voting software must be free code/ open source * votes should be secured using PGP or a blockchain system or (?) The Danish Liberal party supposedly used a blockchain based voting system (http://www.pfhub.com/danish-political-party-considering-internal-blockchain-voting-590/) for internal elections last year. Not sure how it worked out yet.

@jim properly designed online voting would be more secure than proprietary voting machines, and could be built to create paper trails

@jim the need for verification is a key reason why any software used in elections must be free code, so parties can hire tech scrutineers
