@mirzaba BBC2 like all UK TV apart from CBeebies has a 9PM 'watershed.' (Not suitable for minors of various descriptions, typically Under 12 or 15)

@mirzaba Famous for sex workers at the time too. And Piccadilly was the place known for cheap 'rent.'

@mirzaba It's 80s London, UK culture. At the time the East End was a working class district, the West End was clubland inc the LGBT+ 'scene' district.

@tindall AIUI from the meta data of packets arriving at and leaving the edges of a packet switched network like Tor, you can, if you have enough of the in and out nodes covered, trace the traffic. (And do the NSA's usual analysis of meta data?).

If I'm right, and I may not be, grats on providing the NSA et al with a Proof of Concept test scenario :-).

@tindall I could well be wrong, often am. But wouldn't that give the NSA enough connection data through Tor for them to mount that theoretical edges of a packet switching black box attack?

@emacsen Thanks for the clarification. My apologies again, I was assuming you lacked knowledges.

In terms of grammar checkers in FLOSS, Debian buster carries

    abiword-plugin-grammar
    libreoffice-voikko
    link-grammar (from CMU)

malaga-mode is for 'language analysis' which might relevant.

There's a culture of negativity forming on the fediverse, similar to other platforms. The instinct is to call attention to it and critique it, but that itself is just creating more negativity

I think a better tactic is to make a conscious effort to create and spread more positive content, even simple stuff like the plants you're growing or the meal you're having

@tindall I have an app from Public Health England called Active 10. It tracks 'brisk walking' steps. 10 minutes +/- delta of continuous brisk walking is good for heart health. 3 x 10 minute chunks is your daily basic fitness quota.

You might also consider meditation notifications/alarms as part of mental health.

Similarly a notification/alarm half an hour before bedtime as a chill time cue is good for establishing a healthy sleep routine.

@mirzaba Consider how after Huxley started it with Brave New World aka Man and Superman Orwell followed suit and arranged with his publisher for 1984 to be available for 20 years then come out as The English Socialist Critique for another 20 then back again. Each time as 'Orwell's 'Great New Book.' Publishers were already doing it with late authors when Huxley invented the trick. Perhaps you should buy some of these properties when they're going cheap in 5-10 years time 😉

@mirzaba Did you know goldfish only have seven seconds of memory? Give them a large enough bowl and they'll happily swim the same brand new circle all day.

I take it Werewolf etc were released greater than the human equivalent of seven attention span seconds ago? Read

I'm beginning to tire of early stage globally networked society. People still think you have to read everything so the newspapers and TV news channels aren't dead yet.
