Someone should write a story about an item of clothing that temporarily turns anyone that picks it up into an angry and violent nun. It can be called "Bad Habit".
@lain@moonman I think most of these would chase people away from ever trying #Mastodon. Whatever this marketing person ("I specialize in human-social network relations") is trying to do, I don't think this is the right way to go about it.
Personally, I think I would just rename it instead of suffering these repeated pile-ons where well-meaning people call the developers abusive names every few months. I'm sure the developers meant no harm when naming it, but we learn as we grow. In the US, there are still places with slurs as names, but we're slowly renaming them. Likewise, we can rename software once we become aware that the name is offensive to some group.
For non-devs, use something else if naming is an obstacle. It isn't like you don't have to force yourself to wrestle with its interface anyway. If enough people stop using it, someone will eventually create a replacement (or fork the original with a different name and hopefully a better interface).
As for the harassment that GIMP devs are experiencing, be aware that people that will harass GIMP's devs over a naming disagreement will also harass you when they disagree with you. Take note of who those people are and avoid them.
So I watched "Damned For All Time" from the #1973 movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar and from the #2000 movie version. I had seen the 1973 version in theaters, while I only recently became aware that the 2000 version existed.
The newer one is somewhat worse. In just about every song I watched, the 2000 version ranges from somewhat worse to astoundingly worse.
Herod's Song might have improved a little.
There wasn't really a reason to make it, if it wasn't going to be better.
Is the person behind #incelbot seriously hoping to change people's minds? Because AFAICT, random spam replies just irritate people (and lead to requests to admins (AKA instance dentmasters/tootmasters/pleromasters/pixelmasters) to site-block the source of the spam.
@clacke@monerica@moonman I'm not sure what language they have, but I bought some grandkids #RasPi based learning computers which came with the ability to script Minecraft.
