@hyper I chose the black UI (not sure the name) and made the text more contrasty. I hate the way so many sites use two low-contrast shades of gray (a somewhat darker one as the background color, a somewhat lighter one as the foreground/text color).

Hmm. With no persistence, the theme settings will always start out with the hard-to-see dark theme. I'll have to manually switch to something more visible _every time I log into the site_.

Had to switch back to a light theme. The dark was almost invisible here.

@lnxw37a2 @lnxw48a1 @sulman Well I guess in the minds of many dark skin color = poor and underprivileged = diversity of experience and white skin color = rich and privileged = no diversity of experience. The ironic fact that that kind of reasoning is both really rather racist in addition to being terribly fatalistic (you entire future derives from your genotype) seems to elude people.

@lain That was one of the reasons why there is not (yet) a Masto instance hosted by FNetworks. I've never been able to predict whether a given post will appear in my timeline, and I'm already overloaded -- no time to field support questions about why $POST is not visible -- in addition to managing a completely unknown stack in parallel to the mostly-known PHP-FastCGI stack.

@lain Funny, I was talking with one of my sons a couple of days ago, about the need for "extreme centrists" to start promoting their ideas, so that the bankruptcy of extreme left and extreme right ideas becomes obvious to most people.

I just started reading the article, but what she said is *exactly what diversity is supposed to be about* ... it is a way for an organization to improve its management and marketing through considering multiple perspectives. It is *not* supposed to be about having so many of this group and so many of that group, and it is certainly not about making non work related factors the primary criterion for hiring.
