i'm weirdly insecure about everything including video games this is so silly

idk. i'm making good progress and ranking up constantly but there are games where it feels like i'm not good enough, there's something i'm doing wrong, maybe i'm actually just barely scraping by and my teammates are doing most of the work?

i'm not quite sure if i just need more practise, the loadout i'm using isn't that good/is weak to other specific loadouts, if i need different gear, or if there's some sort of imbalance in the game since the last update

i'm really annoyed with the tenta missiles now tbh. they're hard to avoid, and nothing want to use has them as a special. but that's not a huge deal. there are other reasons why i'm having trouble

thanks to all the connection issues today i didn't get to level up, and thanks to quite a few losses too. but i am like 1 or 2 games away from rainmaker s+5 with only 1 crack in the bar

every so often i'm reminded that there are people so good i can't even see them before they've splatted me and they win in ten seconds flat after wiping my team 3 times

well i thought i was pretty alright at splatoon but apparently not

alright, i should do some chores today, but i'm gonna throw myself at some rainmaker first because i've just been sitting here feeling iffy since i woke up and could use something more positive

i guess what i really want out of a game right now is to be able to live out that fantasy of being self-sufficient, surviving off the land and being able to have all the space and resources i want to just exist and make progress on my own

i kinda liked where eco was going with its skill trees, technology progression trees, community building, etc while having minecraft-like building abilities, lots of strange little details no game has really gone into before, even adding in decorative items that serve a purpose. like furnishings to create a proper bathroom, bedroom, etc that actually help you progress

i wish there were basically a game like rust but with a focus on singleplayer. more npcs and wildlife, slightly better home building mechanics, and more goals to work toward beyond simply survival.

there are some games that sorta scratch that itch, with optional multiplayer. and you can technically play rust on your own if you join an empty server or set one up yourself.

but nothing that perfectly overlaps with what i'm looking for.

@cocoron @wraidd you also put in the labour to make, maintain, and grow it. monetary costs aren't the only thing worth reimbursing
