the amazing aesthetic in splatoon never stops being incredible to think about
@monorail a new hollyday
flex jeans are so good. wish i could afford to have more than 3 pairs
@noiob @hoodie i would wear nothing but AE flex jeans if they weren't $70/pair.i've got 3 pairs of skinny ones and they are so good
great for drastic weight changes, longevity, and puts less pressure on my tummy when i'm having stomach troubles (pretty often). not to mention they actually fit my phone unlike the regular ones, lmao
@hoodie it would've been fine if it weren't given to me by someone who i would bet is probably a fascist by now considering their behaviour toward just about everyone slightly different
@hoodie idk what younger me was thinking with fashion. jeans are the only pants worth wearing.
@hoodie one time i ended up wearing a green pair of pants with an orange hoodie and of course my hair is orangish so i got briefly nicknamed "carrots"
@hoodie wouldn't that be redundant
for some reason when i realise more time has passed than i thought by a drastic enough amount, it makes me slightly panic. it kinda adds to the whole feeling of isolation because it's like... my body knows sunlight is good and doing fun things is good and the time for both is nearly up and i wasted a lot of it by accident. the night is closing in on/catching up with me just like everything else
how did it get so late so fast wtf
the latest steven bomb was good
it certainly delivered
@alexgleason oh yeah definitely, all these problems lead back to root problems with privilege and oppression, and tech was never meant to be the big solution, but is a halfway decent bandaid in the meantime to reduce harm and encourage change
it took me until halfway through that thread to realise i misspelled the CW so i just left it in case anyone wanted to mute the whole thing rather than needing to put in a second word
give it some thought. think about why the system might try to tell us these things, who is saying an perpetuating these things and where they're coming from, who's always hiding behind them as a reason for their actions.
and of course, put yourself in the shoes of those who seem to be a minority/target, do proper research, always ask questions
come to conclusions on your own.
i mean, we all seem to be pretty hellbent on our own survival and having fun and being nice to each other
but there's always this rumour floating around that the second we get any agency to think and act for ourselves, we'll use it to hurt and be greedy just like the worst of us
as if personal power and agency somehow scales to the power and influence of someone controlling an entire population
as if we don't prove every day how nice the majority of us can be
they bring in cops and military to keep order/control when the problems are of their own creation. folks are simply fighting back, trying to be themselves, and survive through all the problems this ruling class creates.
you don't have crime if there are no laws to break, no property to steal, etc
you create the criminals and you create the fear so you have a reason to create armies and police forces to target anyone who steps out of line, anyone who questions your rule
the ruling class has always gotten by on strawmen. fake villains in the east that justify large military budgets, invasion, colonialism, trade sanctions, and literally infiltrating the governments of other countries to sabotage them in the name of ideological differences.
not to mention like, just throwing bombs around and threatening to nuke everyone because someone slighted someone else or dared to have any differences.
rule by fear and violence.
everyone is scared of being on the receiving end of violence. so the ruling class, as usual, projects their fear unto everyone else and insists that EVERYONE is a target and that the violence is senseless and dangerous.
they taint the reputation of anarchy by insisting to the working class that anarchists will smash THEIR windows, punch THEM in the throat, as if anarchists aren't just targeting the hierarchs and people who directly support them/carry out their wishes
powerful politicians and rich/wealthy people and anyone who is close to or part of the ruling class, will never give up the power they have. they know that they are taking more than they're allowed and they know there will be consequences for that. they will protect their greed with their lives.
they don't fear kindness and they don't fear our political activism, but they certainly fear our retaliatory violence because it's the one thing money and power can barely protect them from
