anarchism is unfairly summed up as a small chunk of the means rather than the goal.

there are many collaborative methods through which we can work toward anarchy; achieving more democracy within our communities, creating cooperative gardens and other goods/services within our communities to seize back power and sustainability, and of course the necessary tool of violent resistance and revolution.

of course, anarchy has simply been used as a scare word to justify authoritarian rule/order

anarchism is not violence, it is not destructive, it is nothing but a lack of nonconsensual hierarchy.

capitalism creates an environment that necessitates violence and destruction to achieve power. our current state heavily uses power to maintain control, and a history of bloodshed and genocide brought us our modern governments.

retaliatory violence is simply using the tools capitalism provides to achieve the goal of anarchy. without these tools we cannot strip back and dismantle power.

@SwooshyCueb in many cases though i'd much prefer velcro because slip-ons have a hard time with growth, gaining/losing weight, and aren't always very snug (or are too snug)

velcro looks cute imo, but it also has more granular control over how tight the shoe is on your foot

@SwooshyCueb slip-ons are the socially acceptable response to laces being tedious and inaccessible, but velcro being associated with toddlers and old people

like imagine if all this stuff was an open discussion rather than "i'm just gonna do this because i feel like it. you can deal with it" and then an entire community just has to put up with all these features implemented by one guy on a whim

i think most people at this point are just upset at being ignored

you don't even have to implement everyone's ideas, just listen and consider them first i guess

tbh it would make for a lot less hardship if gargron was like "hey, i have an idea, here's how i might implement it" and then we still have discourse, only we've been invited to the conversation and planning rather than a feature popping up out of nowhere and everyone reacting to it.

would be similarly chaotic with a bunch of people talking everywhere but at least it would be more productive and friendly discussion

i will probably stick to laces until they make velcro shoes in a style i like that feels comfy to wear, or until i have the means and knowledge to modify a pair of lace shoes to use velcro instead and have it look nice/blend in

at one point i went on a long adventure around the net looking for velcro skate shoes and found some i might be interested in, but all i found this time around is vans, which are not quite my thing but are better than nothing

well, velcro is an accessibility thing too but most people are rude about anyone preferring it :/
