Tested my tent in the garden today, it was obvious that we need a new one, was too small for us and the kids. So this weekend I'll buy a new one which is much larger.
Looking forward to go out and camp with them soon!
I'm always drawn towards https://centos.org/ , so now I installed it on one of my developer machines again, got some projects I want to make on that OS. Also possibly look into some real-time kernel stuff.
Finally got myself a steam link! Very nice. Got it for half price as well. I'm currently using my a xbox controller, I'll get the steam controller next.
My next coding project will be to test and set up automatic c# wrapping of c++ code on linux, so that I can call functions from c++ from c#. There are tools for this, but I have never tried them. I'll test with this: https://github.com/mono/CppSharp first.
Fixing stuff around the house (inside \ outside) always makes me feel better. I hate going around thinking about stuff, so I've started fixing things quicker. If I have nothing special to do I just start on a task. I try to get everything done before my vacation 15th of July. One of the bigger tasks is painting a sidewall up on the roof between my neighbor and our house (our house is 1m higher up then theirs, so it's a low wall up on the roof between us). Got the cladding changed last year, time to paint it one of these days.
SSL certificate for https://diasporapod.no is updated, some XMPP clients might report new certificate when it reconnects, it's safe to accept the new one, just keeping things up to date and such.
I have now redone the network for https://diasporapod.no/ server.
still feels as if it should have faster response, but now I have ruled out the hardware.
I will continue with checking on webserver setups tomorrow. #diaspora#podmin
I will connect the server more directly to modem today, this is to see if one of my routers are causing the https://diasporapod.no to be a bit slower then it should be. Then if it does not improve I will look into other things on the server it self (apache \ database etc).
I will spend time this week at making https://diasporapod.no more responsive. It has plenty of cpu / ram / ssd, but still feels as if it should be more responsive. I suspect it's somewhere in the apache configuration, I will try and figure it out this week.
Friend of mine donated a computer to me today, It will be used as the server for https://diasporapod.no , currently getting the OS installed. The diaspora pod will be moved to it's new home soon.
I'm getting a new server for https://diasporapod.no next week (Monday).
A friend of mine donated the hardware to me because he's moving abroad.
I will then install CentOS on it, and when that's done I'll migrate the current virtual machine that this pod runs on over to it. I will announce the downtime in advance, I expect it to take around one hour to get everything up and running once I start the migration.
