Been a while since I posted some good music to listen to.
Found a new great live-set the other day, so I've been listening to that a lot the last days.
Finally, the famous #vulkan triangle. Got it on my screen tonight.
Been coding on it for a couple of nights, following the tutorial here: https://vulkan-tutorial.com
Great resource if you want to learn to code with Vulkan.
Walked the paved road to the store, bought what I needed, then walked 2 minutes down the street and into the forest, hiked there all the way back home (takes about one hour). I love living a place where you can do that.
I listen to mostly psytrance, but I also enjoy other music styles, I've been listening a lot to Altar of plagues recently, I really like their music, some times I find music that I can listen to a million times without getting tired of it, like this.
Ahh, weekend! Going to enjoy the heck out of this one. Fun stuff with our kids, dinner date with Marlyn tonight, and then some time for some games as well, looking forward to all of this.
How are you all doing today?
Norway is having a day off work today. Too bad the weather sucks here today, but maybe I can get my kids to go on a hike with me regardless. There is a area here with a lot of bunkers from WW2 that I like to walk around and look at, the kids find them exciting too.
My exporter for blender to PBRT render engine is getting better every time I sit down wit it.
Now working on this scene, adding the missing geometry \ shaders and stuff like that.
Porting one of my older scenes to this renderer. (cpu only, rendertime is high, so there is a lot of noise in it)..
After thinking about it for a while I've decided that I will open source the exporter code.
Got some things to fix before I do. That is my way to give something back.
I will sit down and write a long blog post on my website, with the current status and plans,
also I'll make some nice noise-free renders to show what's already been done. #b3d
Random woman on the internet gave away this chair today for free, luckily for me she lived 5 minutes away and I've been looking for one of these for a while. Nice way to start my day, now it's in our living room.
Been using http://uptimerobot.com/ for while to report status on my servers, but too many times it has failed to report when there is issues. So I will switch to another one tonight.
Some nights I just cannot fall a sleep, my mind is just racing, the same things over and over and over, nothing important and nothing that means anything really, just random thoughts in a loop. super frustrating, 5.5hrs until I have to get up and go to work already.
It’s been wonderful to see so many new members joining our community over the past few days. <3
You might already have noticed that diaspora* is missing some features that you’d really like to use.
As an open-source Free Software project, diaspora* is created by its community. Now that you’re part of this community, we’d love you to help us improve it for everyone.
The main issue that slows the pace of development is simply developer time. To increase developer time and so increase the speed of development, the project needs more developers!
Help us improve the software
If you can code, or want to learn, we’d like to hear from you! diaspora* is built on Ruby on Rails, with many JavaScript elements. Have a look at our guide to contributing to diaspora*.
Get in touch with our core team before you start work on anything to discuss your proposed contribution. That way we can make sure that your contribution will fit well into the existing structure.
Some of the bigger features can be pretty complex, so it might be a good idea to start with simpler issues until you’ve become familiar with the code and diaspora* itself.
We manage development via GitHub’s issue tracker. Look especially for issues tagged with the help wanted and newcomer labels.
If you know someone who can code, and you think they might be interested in this project, tell them about diaspora* and encourage them to consider contributing!
Even if you don't code, there are still plenty more ways to help. Check our wiki for ideas.
#diaspora is good alternative to #facebook. Nowadays Facebook is tracking users comments and giving #bans to users who have different tone of topics than mainstream users. I hope one day Diaspora #pods are more familiar to average users. Please be welcome to give #opinion what you have to say #about Facebook and how it have #served your own purposes.
