    You can kinda make it better if you have C++14's digit separators.
    int a = 1'000'000'000;
    But, otherwise you're stuck with 1000000000 :(

    Oh, weird C++ minutia?

    Apparently, literals that use scientific notation are assumed to be floating-point. So, like, 1e9 is of type double. It makes sense for negative exponents, but I'd been writing things like that expecting it to be one billion as an integer.

    #introductions hola everyone, I'm Megan, I run Glass Bottom Games, currently working on Spartan Fist: spartanfist.com - a first-person punching roguelike about punching dudes so hard they explode. Our previous games include Hot Tin Roof, which you've maybe heard of. I drink a lot of tea? Our games tend to have cats in them? Oh I'm a metalhead too. DEATH METAL WOO (especially fem lead death metal - The Agonist / Arch Enemy is my shiz). Uh, hi? This me. https://mastodon.gamedev.place/media/Jhf8K61sOl_oPIhQe1g

    @ConnyDuck The only other leads I could think of were:

    1.) Try SpongyCastle instead. Maybe get lucky and the problems would turn out to just be namespace-related. So, using SpongyCastle would sidestep the problem.

    2.) Google Play Services Dynamic Security Provider is exactly for fixing this problem. The catch is that it's of course play-services-only, so it couldn't be released to F-Droid. :(

    3.) uhh … Conscrypt is only a release candidate but, maybe?

    @ConnyDuck I did an experiment building in BouncyCastle as a security provider and it did fix some of these problems. The issue was mainly that, since it overrode the existing provider, some other users started having issues where they weren't before!

    I never sorted out if I had just included in through gradle incorrectly. Or if it was conflicting with the existing security provider on old devices, which is ALSO BouncyCastle and uses the same "BC" name to identify itself.

    Which instance was it who had the little oekaki-style painter mod?

    I vaguely remember seeing a few folks scribble with it and now I can't remember.

    @ThisIsLeeloo I definitely wasn't around for it, but I know friendica, diaspora and GNU social's predecessor were around separately since 2010. They only connected with each other years later, though, through changes in protocol. So I'm not sure how concrete of a start date there is to the fediverse.

    The current ones Mastodon is interoperable with are GNU social, Friendica, Pleroma, and PostActiv, I think?

    @zatnosk Yeah, I'm not really giving it all that much work to do so it's what I was expecting. Just funny looking.

    To be clear, I expected this! It's not doing anything occupying tons of CPU time, so it just sleeps the rest away.

    The biggest real workload is all the sample processing on the audio thread.

    There's not much Game yet
