@codesections You know I'm a C snob and that I was really kidding. Their are people who really think that, though.
I agree that most of the new languages don't offer anything new. And some of them do things that should not even be considered like garbage collection. I wish that there was a groundbreaking, new and exciting language that breaks the mold and offers something important like functions or objects did. There must be some new ground to cover.
@ataraxia937 I'm sure there will be buyers for the phone if you end up confirming your buyer's remorse. I was able to make an Ubuntu Touch phone work for me until the RF section in the phone went TU. I'm waiting for the Librem5 also. I think if you stick with it, you can make it work. If you do decide to give up on it, there will be buyers. The only shortcoming will be the hit from brand new to used. New phone hell is very real, even when staying within a brand.
@jordan31@poetgrant In my case, the house is half a mile from the road. Water only travels in the middle of the pipe. The smaller the pipe the less water and pressure we have at the house.
@poetgrant When I bought the land in 1992, the water coop told me that unless I ran 1.5" pipe to my house, they could not guarantee we'd have good water pressure. So I ran 2" pipe because the increase in cost was negligible and I didn't want a low pressure problem. Since then they've built a new pumping station near us and we have problems with hoses popping. 1" should not be a problem. (I hope)
We finally got the 1" PEX one across the dry creek, have water at our house, and the bleeding has stopped. Looks like our leak is fixed. Now we just have to finish burying the PEX.
So now we've plugged up our water line on both sides of the dry Creek that runs across our property and verified the leak is in the creek. Now we're going to run a continuous piece of 1" PEX across the creek with some slack so we can bury it later. It's all logic just like programming.
