b) i submit that we would never have become so adverse to the things if they had not been saddled with the name "fanny pack". some less-fashion-damaged design would have evolved eventually.

@satchmoz @maiki somewhat over a decade ago, i bought lostsnail.com with the idea of starting a subscription service where you'd be guaranteed an original handwritten letter from me n times a year.

it's probably just as well i never actually followed through, because it's hilariously impractical, but i still think about it all the time.
