¡Hola, gente estupenda del Fediverso :anarchoheart3: !

Soy A. Gaita-Ariño para el sistema, o Alex para mi gente; en linea he sido agaitaarino (tw) y, antes que eso, 4lex (¡slashdot! ¡wikipedia! ¡qué tiempos!).

Con la ciencia me gano la vida (magnetismo molecular, qubits, química de coordinación), pero aquí he venido por el activismo (sobre todo #anarquismo, #feminismo, #ecologismo): a aprender, a conocer a gente y a aportar lo que pueda. Me estoy asomando a Mastodon porque querría dejar de regalarle mi trabajo a empresas chungas y de darles aún más poder sobre mi vida. Me comunico cómodamente en inglés, pero creo que es más práctico el activismo de proximidad, así que al menos desde esta instancia me comunicaré en #castellano/#español.

Los planes luego se adaptan sobre la marcha, pero mi objetivo inicial es compartir por aquí: música/libros (ajenos) de temáticas revolucionarias, textos tipo blog en lamarea.com (propios), y recomendaciones de cuentas de gente que vaya encontrando en este fediverso mastodóntico. Y comunicarme con vosotres, sobre todo.

So a person in the fediverse made the thinking error that climate activism hurts the Third World. Let me explain in a few quick points why that this utter bullshit:

- the term Third World is a imperialist term from the Cold War.

- poorer countries , so called undeveloped countries or periphery countries (or whatever you want to call them), will be impacted the most by #climateChange! They already are!

- those countries are indeed negatively impacted by unfair climate policies from government leaders (NOT activists).

- This doesn't mean that those countries should have the right to continue CO² emissions, but that so called developed countries should help these countries with their energy transition, especially cause the developed countries (the West) are mostly responsible for climate change.

- most climate activists are very aware about these facts. That's why activists talk about #ClimateJustice! Especially radical activists (like me) are fully aware that climate change is racist!

- So don't frame climate activists that they serve the Western elites! It's the opposite!
