spotify can't figure out what to call songs you want to save.

it used to be a "+" to add them, and they got added to a list just called "Songs"

then they changed it to a "♥" and the list was "Favorite Songs"... now it's called "Liked Songs"

@rey also they act like it's just completely ludicrous to consider statehood / representation for PR, Guam, etc. All about states rights, as long as they get to control what counts as a "state"

@Beemancer tangentially, when i typo something on the command line and it has the fucken GALL to say "maybe you meant..." and give me suggestions, but then not give me a way to say "yes actually, run that thing"

like you're really gonna go through the trouble of guessing what i meant, then make my just retype that? obviously i can't type correctly, you just saw me fuck it up once c'mon computer

like i don't like the idea of "spectrum" because it implies there are distinct ends, like being 100% straight or 100% gay is possible, and special

like what's it mean to be ABSOLUTELY heterosexual? you've never considered ANY quality of somebody of your same gender attractive, ever? and when you begin to ponder what gender actual means as something separate from the sex you are born with, well, uhhh that's even messier

LB: i kind of like to picture gender and sexuality like this penrose triangle or maybe like a moebius strip. not sides of a coin, not a spectrum, all just different, innumerable points on the edges of a single surface, where our perspective makes us think there are distinct sides but it's all really the same thing

@andrew68k hmm yea maybe i can kind of trick myself by saying "oh yes, this is something that should be able to fit into a few toots / is easy to split up" just to get things rolling, then refine refine refine

even just considering taking something that i liked that i wrote in mastodon posts, and cleaning up / reposting on like write.as or something, and i feel like it's totally lacking and just not good

like the freedom actually ruins my confidence in what i can do
