    For me, the newly-released Thor's Hammer set is everything that can go wrong with #LEGO :

    • Design limited by a 3rd party license.
    I don't need to have seen any Ninjago, Legends of Chima or even Monkey Kid media to enjoy the sets that came out of these themes. But who would be interested by this set without having read/watched Marvel's Thor in action?

    Thank you for the suggestion, I'm not sure how to do that and this particular inconvenience stemmed from the fact that my my password manager was on my phone where I was calling the contact number, so typing 20 characters that I could only see on my phone was a non-starter.

    Through a live chat session that I maintained alive by artificially refreshing the Fidelity website as suggested by all three representatives I got in contact with, I learned that I could bypass the phone password prompt by either saying "representative" as I was suggested or by waiting long enough which ended up working for me.

    Cheesh.

    - Live chat automatically disconnects after a few minutes.

    I also have internally debated how much I should donate, either the full $400, or without the shipping cost ($27), the PayPal commission ($20) and/or the original purchase price ($180). In the end I donated the full $400 because it felt like splitting hairs while actual people are in danger.

    So, about last night...

    In July 2021 I pre-ordered on BrickLink a #LEGO -produced limited-run set created by an amateur designer for $180. Yesterday, I received the box but the circumstances that motivated the purchase had already disappeared.

    I put it for sale for $400 including shipping, and a few minutes later, someone from Canada purchased it. I felt icky about making such a profit just for being one of the lucky few last year, so I'm intending on giving the money from the sale to the Ukrainian Red Cross.

    After watching me do it about a hundred times, my 7-year old kid finally decided to put one of his own #LEGO set for sale online in my storefronts. He went through all the preparation steps almost all by himself: inventory the parts, wash them, inventory them again and pick a price.
