So not looking forward to my *required* research methods class this semester. :/
@Holly @Holly I can see that, but there are some cool new 133 stuff too.
Does anyone else think political correctness has gone mad?
@Holly Ahh yes Hygge. :) Tak! Since seeing this article, my 100's are slanting a bit witchy.

@platypus Oops, yeah, "word". But yeah!
Personally, i think if books are going to put the work "Fuck" in their titles, the need to put the work fuck in their titles or just not put the word fuck in their titles.
Need to buy a laptop storage/charge cart but these all seem to be overly-shite made and overly-shite priced.
@platypus Maybe he would consider packaging it as a flatpak someday?
@platypus I can totally understand his rationale. Guess I'm just being selfish here. Would be so much simpler to just have it available in a repo and have it install itself and keep itself up to date. :)
I wish, wish, wish there was an open source version of MarcEdit. Any #code4lib peeps out there listening? #library #open_source #software

Sweet! Just got an announcement today from #Bywater_Solutions that their open source public computer time management software #Libki now has integrated print management! So now instead of all our windows 7 machines getting switched to Windows 10 as support for 7 expires, they're gonna be getting some #Linux love! ๐ ๐
@dee I'm currently working on digitizing my mother-in-law's vhs-c tapes from the late 80's to the late nineties. It's practice for offering a free digitization service at the library I work at. I hope there are lots of people like you in my community that might appreciate the service. :)
Reverse proxies are a concept I don't think I'll ever understand. Any good general site that explains how these are used?
@some_qualia
Was just going through this on Friday. This worked as a Rosetta Stone for me (at least as long as the processors are Intel) https://ark.intel.com/
@ruth saw this mentioned on Reddit and thought you might find it useful. https://inkstitch.org/
Using pulseaudio with the #ubuntu #snap of #ffmpeg worked for my video capture! I did have to manually allow ffmpeg to connect to the video capture device (maybe should be the default?) but it worked great after that! Back in business. Thanks @Wimpress @sergiusens and @popey for
@Wimpress Thank you. I'm trying to figure out a system for digitizing vhs tapes for patrons at a public library. My script worked with the version of ffmpeg on Arch, but w/ Ubuntu its a different version and it isn't creating workable video files. I think I'll just go back with Arch for now, but check back later on with Ubuntu. I'm not sure about pulse, but I'll look into it. Thanks for your help. @sergiusens
Can anyone give me some advice on granting access to hardware using #Ubuntu #snaps #ffmpeg ? I'm trying to capture video using an easycap clone. I've given the snap access to #alsa but ffmpeg still complains that it can't access hw:2,0 . Any ideas?
