@Gargron Hey so I got the signature header working, and I think I got a bunch of webfinger working? But now I'm still getting errors, this time "Remote data could not be fetched. Any advice on how to figure out what's causing this? I'm trawling through Masto's source now, but it's still a bit of a mystery to me. XD

@Gargron Hey so I just did a bunch of work implementing webfinger responses. Now I'm getting a whole new error: Remote data could not be fetched. This is from base_controller.rb, so I'm guessing the error is elsewhere. Any ideas where I should look? I'm guessing my webfinger implementation is incomplete. :/

Hmm, nevermind. Doesn;t look like it's even the same public key. :/

Hmm. Should I make users public keys available in the same magic public key alias that mastodon uses? or is that only necessary if you're gonna federate via ostatus or something? :/

@er1n @00dani Yeah but I don;t usually use that browser, so I wasn;t familiar with the behaviour. XD

@00dani OK no, I was wrong. it only redirects if you're already on host-meta.json. So it's just downloading the file and sending me back where I was before. :/

@00dani remember, chromium is slightly different. XD

@00dani Hmm, seems that's just chromium. Firefox doesn;t do any redirecting. :/

@00dani hmm, and I see your non-json host meta just redirects to the json one. And that works for you? You can federate with Masto and stuff? :/

@cwebber lol nvm, there was an option, just not a documented one. XD
