Hey, any of you familair with webfinger? Does the spec call for making things available on a specific port? or if I just let it use the default port, is that fine? :/

@syndikalista @Monkeymind Eh, I'm still skeptical. One of the problems, in my opinion, is that one of the things that keeps a society stable is the threat of revolution. And when you have a revolution, it tends to go on until everybody is exhausted. And then you can't threaten to have another one, and things can get really bad. It also does a lot of damage to the society, both physically, and in terms of social relationships, standards, trust, so on and so forth. :/

@Monkeymind @syndikalista Ehhhh, revolutions tend to suck. Like, about the best revolution I can find was the U.S. one, and that one had more in common with a war against a foreign power than it did with a revolution. Personally, I would suggest that the first priority should be establishing the means to communicate and coordinate, Like with Mastodon or with my own project, Agora, and then use those to pursue change. :/

Oh for fucks sake. I spent DAYS being annoyed because a library didn't have an option for what I needed, almost tore my hair out trying to write my own code for it - then, while looking through the libraries code so I could write my own, I found an innocuous little option that did exactly what I wanted. This is why documentation is important, people. -_-

This is a fanfic I read, way back. It's very interesting. Some bits are explicit, however, and I don't entirely agree with all of the author's takes. :/

Hmm. How easy (or difficult) would if be to make an implant that just reads your blood for info and reports on that information via short range wireless? Seems like a useful implant. :/

    [X] Forest

You are surrounded by a verdant woodland. Ancient trees arch over head, while a thinner underbrush reaches for every stray scrap of light underneath. Birdsong echoes about, quite undisturbed by your presence, aching and blood-soaked as it may be. Speaking of which, you suddenly realize that you have no idea who you are. You pat yourself down and determine that most of the blood isn't your's at least, and the few wounds you have are all shallow cuts, hopefully minor. You also determine your race and gender:

Winter temperatures in Alliance, Nebraska can drop to -20°F (the record low is -40°F/C), but retired mailman Russ Finch grows oranges in his backyard greenhouse without paying for heat. Instead, he draws on the earth's stable temperature (around 52 degrees in his region) to grow warm weather produce- citrus, figs, pomegranates - in the snow.
