@fitheach "Terrace was once the cedar pole capital of the world. Over 50,000 poles were manufactured annually to supply many parts of North America with telephone and electric power poles. The world's tallest pole, 50 metres (160 ft) long, was cut in Terrace and stands in New York City."

Also, not as funny here. They aren't called chemist shops or the chemist, they are called drug stores. Sometimes pharmacies, but not by regular people, only signage.

@allan @ink_slinger Isn't the truth that no policy measure undertaken by Canada will make a serious difference to the problem? We're responsible for less than 2% of global GHG emissions.

Certainly we ought to do our share -- indeed, we should do more than most since we are a rich society and can bear the costs. But let's not imagine that we're so important.

"Attacks in the name of religion on places of worship or innocent civilians constitute terrorism, not jihad," The Daily Sabah reported Erdogan as saying.

"Those who attack mosques or those who target churches share the same dark mentality, they're all common enemies of humanity," Erdogan added.
