    By combining MRI tech with a scanning tunneling microscope, researchers were able to visualize the electron configuration of individual atoms. You can see the cloud move around, as well as their magnetic fields. It's something I wanted to see when I took HS physics and now it's happened. I love science.

    @jeremiah Not that anyone asked...

    While I'm very sympathetic to the desire of Hongkongers for liberty and democracy, I hate seeing people attack the LegCo buildings. Rule of law is essential to human well-being; as Hong Kong's past demonstrates, with rule of law one can have freedom and prosperity, even in the absence of democracy.

    Even in a narrow sense, sacking the legislature may be counterproductive. Beijing may crackdown, not back off.

    Anti-extradition protesters in Hong Kong tied a British colonial-era flag to the parliament podium in LegCo this evening, after breaking down barriers and storming into the government headquarters earlier tonight.

    Protesters also defaced the Bauhinia crest of Hong Kong with spray paint, and were videotaped destroying office equipment.

    @hhardy01 And of course all the founding fathers were originally citizens of a different state.

    But seriously, is anyone really claiming that Senators Warren or Harris are ineligible for the presidency?

    The criticism of Sen. Warren is that it's silly for her to claim she's Native American. Which, to the degree she has made such a claim, is true.

    I'm completely unfamiliar with any criticism that Sen. Harris isn't black enough for... I don't even know for what.

    @hhardy01 Look, one of the most important themes of political fiction is how good can arise even from the works of fallible men, and how men with good intentions are corrupted by power. You must see *All the King's Men*.
