I swapped my addresses around and was able to get (free!) freezes from TransUnion and Experian. Equifax ($5) didn't work and now I hate them even more.

Setting up a new ProtonMail account is the easy part. Now I need to double-check that my credit is frozen--I change addresses and phone numbers often enough that verifying my ID on credit agencies' websites is hard--and set up 2FA in a few places.

Forgive me, tech people, for I have sinned. It has been a couple years since I last did something about security.

I can't figure out how I was affected unless I agree to arbitration and sign away my right to join a class-action suit. To freeze my credit, I have to pay the fuckers who let my information get exposed in the first place.

Honestly, I've come to terms with anyone stealing my identity. They can take my negative net worth and run with it.
