@bob @cwebber @zig @sheogorath That "Parity Public License" seems to be "same as the GPL, but without the legalese", where the existence of the legalese is probably essential to its function.

I'm preferring the AGPL for most stuff currently, because BigTech won't touch it, but I'd honestly like a stronger CopyFarLeft license if one were properly vetted.

In general, if you have any specific questions about:

    1) Cooking, including breadmaking, yogurt and cheesemaking, and fermentation
    2) Gardening, especially urban and guerrilla, as well as composting, vermiculture, soil remediation, and apiculture
    3) Workplace organization and unionization
    4) Emacs or Elisp
    5) Protesting or Direct Action

I am probably happy to help answer them!

Please, always feel free to ask. Not just one question, I'll be your tutor in any or all these topics.

@edheil Well, that's what I mean by dealing with the substance of the criticism – he needed to listen to what people were telling him, years ago, about how his defense of pedophilia was incorrect and how his behaviour was often inappropriate, and he needed to change his behaviour based on the criticism.

In "Heat," H.D. [Hilda Doolittle] voices my thoughts on South Carolina heat:

O wind, rend open the heat,
    cut apart the heat,
    rend it to tatters.

    Fruit cannot drop
    through this thick air—
    fruit cannot fall into heat
    that presses up and blunts
    the points of pears
    and rounds the grapes.

    Cut the heat—
    plough through it,
    turning it on either side
    of your path.

Being #ActuallyAutistic doesn't mean you can't take criticism or listen to feedback and act on it. Stallman's continued, privileged insistence that He Was Right got him in trouble here, NOT his #Autism

I respect Richard Stallman for his groundbreaking contributions to Free Software and free culture in general. That said, his inability to respond appropriately to criticism (as in, take on and deal with the substance of the criticism, not just respond with decorum) is harming the Free Software movement, and this is not the first time. It's appropriate that he step down.

It's such a fucking neurotypical thing.

Like "online friends are not real friends"

So once anyone comes online, they become unreal. Got it!

Online friends did 1,000x more to keep me alive than my entire family did and all my "real friends" did in my life

Just because I can't touch someone, doesn't make them unreal

In short: Just because you don't understand it, doesn't make it not existing

@ebel I can't solve a Rubik's Cube without a reference, but there are definitely algorithms for each step. A couple of months ago I was playing with my old cube and decided to solve it for the entertainment of my kids. I think the reference site I used was https://cube3x3.com/, though it might have been another one. I didn't solve it often enough to memorize the algorithms, but a couple times through was enough that I could have gotten by with just a cheat-sheet.

I know that partial refreshes are faster than full refreshes. My question is: do partial refreshes also use less power than full refreshes?

My reason for asking: on my Kobo reader, I don't mind a full page refresh, and it makes the resulting page look slightly better. But does it hurt my battery life to full-refresh every page rather than every chapter?

    1. Richard Stallman Does Not and Cannot Speak for the Free Software Movement
      from Software Freedom Conservancy
We are passionate about software freedom because we know it is a necessary precondition to safe and effective software that we can rely on in the long term. We fight for copyleft because it is a powerful tool to help us actually control the technology that is being increasingly embedded in our lives. The fight for diversity, equality and inclusion is the fight for software freedom; our movement will only be successful if it includes everyone. With these as our values and goals, we are appalled at recent statements made by the President and founder of the Free Software Foundation, Richard Stallman, in his recent email to the MIT CSAIL mailing list.
