I've been trying out #Matrix the past couple of days: 'An open network for secure, decentralized communication'.
It's kinda like the Mastodon of messengers, or more accurately the fediverse of messengers, although calling it a #messenger is a bit of an understatement.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I think it's great! A much needed solution to an increasing problem, not sure why I held of from checking it out for so long! 😅

Oh. So, #Mastodon "direct messages" are public on any other #ActivityPub network (at least, Osada, Friendica). :think_bread: I should stop comparing them to macroblogging Fediverse "limited" posts then. Those are not public, normally.

In short: #2FA website twofactorauth.org does discriminate self-hosted services like #Mastodon and promote only centralized services. 😠

When the favorite list of #2FA providers (https://twofactorauth.org/) does not want to include self-hosted service, because <no idea>.
So I've created a PR to be at least honest about that and prevent waste of contributor's time:

@rtwx have you reported these issues to the #Pleroma devs and the devs of the apps you're using? Pleroma aims to support exactly the same server-client API as #Mastodon, so it seems likely you've struck bugs that they would want to get fixed.

o autor erra o tiro (IMO) porque compara #mastodon (como exemplo) coas PLATAFORMAS PUBLICITARIAS coñecidas como RRSS. Son software DESEÑADO para a viralidade e o "engagement", cheos de ferramentas que permiten segmentar o producto (as usuarias) e vendelo. Canto máis grande e mellor segmentado esté o producto máis VALOR ten.
Aquí non hai TT nin CITAS por decisión consciente no deseño, para precisamente evitar a viralidade vacía e dirixida.(1)

Mastodon permet désormais (au maximum une fois par semaine) d'exporter la totalité de ses archives au format ActivityPub.
Est-ce que vous connaissez un logiciel qui permet de naviguer dans cet export ?
Ou d'en faire une version humainement lisible ? (export html, autre ?)

i'm still #desperately missing an option to share a #pdf on #mastodon..
can't that be implemented easily? like a dynamic #whitelist of file formats or something.. a list of #checkboxes for the instance's #admin account? so every instance can decide individually whether pdfs are allowed or not?
