Was at the #Eskom expo for young scientists, (aka #ISF or 'International Science Fair") in Boksburg, #SouthAfrica - just looking around at the groovy experiments & designs the high school kids came up with. Managed to introduce 2 of them to #CreativeCommons and #OpenSource licensing.
Bit perturbed that there seemed to be all but zero knowledge about things like #OpenData #OpenInformation #KnowledgeSharing and the like, almost as if Eskom didn't like the idea of #sharing technology or knowledge

An open-source (and libre software) consulting firm whose expertise spans from the Linux kernel to LibreOffice and X.Org had another successful year.

Collabora remains at around two dozen employees (23) and they ended 2017 with 2,778,094 £ (~$3.6 million USD) compared to 2,211,750 £ in 2016.

This all indicates the growing will of firms too, to move away from proprietary software
