Great talking with #sonOne today. We discussed games ( #2DS / #3DS, #Switch, #PS4, WinPC ), vehicles, jobs, his brother #sonTwo, and the outing they did for #GD1's 11th birthday.
Of course, I talked with the oldest granddaughter and also briefly with the half-asleep six year old #GD2. (She had her first negative online experience. Someone persuaded her to give them her password for an online service targeted at kids; even after they recovered her account and reported the other person, he's still roaming the virtual world, targeting obviously very young kids. I think my son is going to cancel their accounts in favor them joining a limited-access Minecraft server run by a co-worker.)

I admitted in separate phone calls with #sonTwo and @mike yesterday that after getting so much overtime for the past three years, I don't know what I enjoy anymore. In trying to figure out Life After $EMPLOYER, I can't honestly say I have an answer to "What do you want to do when you grow up?" and that's the wrong place to be when you're this old.

#sonTwo told me that because of their move to a different state, his wife's student financial aid / tuition numbers will change after the upcoming semester, because it goes under a different state financial aid agency.

What #PS4 game should I get? I want something that I can play, that #sonOne (age 40), #sonTwo ( age 30), #Daddy_A (age 29), and @mike would all enjoy. It'd be nice if @dog (Colby) also enjoyed it, since he's getting the same console in a few days. I’m buying five or six copies of the game, so cheaper is better.

Wonderful hourlong call with #sonOne. Today we discussed:
* Sega Genesis / Aladdin / modern clone consoles
* Nintendo Entertainment System / modern clone consoles
* YouTube channels and podcasts
* Building gaming PCs
* Family stuff ( #lazyNephew, #sonTwo, #GD1, #GS1, and the almost-member @mike )
* Job stuff
* Riding (bicycles and motorcycles)
Lots of pauses today, and the granddaughters were still asleep, so I did not get to say hi to them. I decided not to leave any #blue_pawprint s, so he won't know I'm replacing his #PS4 until it arrives Saturday.

Both #sonOne and #sonTwo moved away from #Comcast in the past year. The older one is in #GoogleFiber territory, and is very pleased with it. The younger one is currently choosing between 3Mbps #CenturyLink DSL or a local microwave ISP (faster, but more expensive).

I had a nice call with @mike last night. I also called #sonTwo, who was going to try to call back when he got a break, but never did.

Going to have to check on wireless ISPs in #sonTwo's new town. They probably aren't close enough to a tower to get 50Mbps downloads, like $EMPLOYER's office got from RadioWire, but it's got to beat the 3Mbps that the local telco's DSL offers.

I used to know a lady who would get angry at someone and tell them "When you get home, I hope your mom comes out from under the porch and bites you". I never thought about it until #sonTwo was about twelve and said to me, "You know [lady's name] just called that guy a son of a bitch, right?".

Got a call from #sonTwo. The computer I bought wasn't what came. I've got the fun process of filing a claim ahead of me.

@moonman The secret weapon is celery. Don't use it if you don't have to, but it is very low calorie and gives you a chewing sensation. #sonTwo used celery to keep himself sane during his caloric restriction (which ended only because he honeymooned in KY and TN, where everything is made of butter and sugar).

@moonman Don't give up. I know it is hard. #sonTwo did some sort of doctor-recommended reduced calorie diet and got below 300lb in time for his honeymoon. Once he started losing, he felt a lot better, though.
