    I'm told it is better now, but I've seen some of the annoyances less than a week ago.

    @lnxw48a1 ok. #Wire keeps coming up. Definitely going to try it next, as #WebRTC stuff in the browser just isn't going to work on this PC

    @strypey Between November and February. Some change required us all to reconnect as contacts. Reconnecting never completed, so communication over #Ring was no longer possible.

    Currently using #Wire and #Matrix instead.

    A few nights ago my partner, Jen, and I were watching a documentary on how much data #Google and #Facebook keep on people.

    She now has #Firefox, #DuckDuckGo and #Wire installed. I'm about to migrate her #Gmail to my servers, and she's considering leaving Facebook.

    Just shows what a bit of eye opening can do. Shame she never listens when I tell her these things! 😂 #Privacy

    @mike @maiyannah I like #Wire.

    Positives: For 1:1 chats, it is vastly superior to #Matrix. I believe E2E encrypted by default.

    Negatives: Contact list management is still not good, and the promised #federation has not yet appeared. I eventually want to !selfhost my communications infrastructure, or at least anything that isn't #P2P.

    Note to self: Remember to mention #Signal and #Wire and all the other #WhatsApp alternatives any time I toot about WhatsApp's relationship with #Facebook.

    Otherwise the entire Fediverse will try to "help me" by promoting their favourite alternative... 😛

    I wish #Briar were out of beta. It's the only one that is actually radically decentralized!

    Next on my test plan is actually Delta Chat (https://delta.chat/). It's based on e-mail and #Autocrypt, so it should play nice with #Mailpile.
